Why Gratitude is the foundation for a better life

To be grateful and show more appreciation will improve the wellbeing of your life. Be thankful for the things you have instead of the things you don´t have.

Gratitude increases happiness, reduce depression, and strengthen your resilience.

It is very important that you have a morning routine that sets you off to a great start. It doesn´t matter when you get up, it matters how you get up. Practice gratitude every morning and you will feel the difference.

Healthier

Studies have shown that your physical and your mental health will be improved when you are more grateful. Your blood pressure decrease, you will experience less chronic pain and have more energy and live longer.    

You will be more resistant to criticism from others and especially from yourself. When you start to appreciate and love yourself more, your self-esteem goes up, and nothing is more fulfilling.

Many high achievers, including me, have a hard time appreciate themselves because it is through result you are “allowed “to praise yourself. To sit on a cliff looking at the sunrise and doing nothing is also an achievement.

Turn negativity into positivity.

When you practice Gratitude, you will be able even to turn negativity into positivity. You will see the good in things more often, perhaps not at the moment but eventually, you will. The bad times will allow you to appreciate the better times even more. Knowing that you will handle the bad times better also strengthen your self-confidence.

By asking yourself when something terrible happens:

-What does this mean? 

-What is great about this problem?

It will help you build a strong “Can do” skill.

Sleep better

When you practice Gratitude, you will be more eager to help others, and by doing so, you will feel more fulfilled because you contribute. The most selfish thing you can do is to help others.

Higher self-esteem

Your self-esteem will increase because you will notice the things that you have instead of the things you don´t have. Change expectations for appreciations and your life will change in an instant- Tony Robbins.

Gratitude will protect you from the emotions that mess up the most, and that is fear and anger. When you are grateful, you cannot be angry or fearful at the same time. The reason is that our brain isn´t capable of experiencing these emotions at the same time.
